🍁 Mini Maples – Where Toddlers Thrive Through Play, Nature, and Discovery 🌿

Welcome to Mini Maples, our vibrant and spacious toddler unit designed for curious minds aged 2 to 3 years. With space for up to 25 toddlers and a 1:4 adult-to-child ratio, Mini Maples is a place where children are free to explore, imagine, and grow in a nurturing and stimulating environment.

Rooted in the Curiosity Approach, our room is filled with natural resources and open-ended materials that inspire creativity, independence, and a love of learning. We believe in creating beautiful, thoughtful spaces that feel calm, inviting, and full of wonder.

Inside, you’ll find:

• A role play area to spark imagination
• Indoor sand pits and a messy play room for sensory exploration
• A sofa corner for quiet cuddles and story time
• A carpeted zone for puzzles, fidget toys, and focused play

We support every stage of development with full baby changing facilities, toilets for those toilet training, and child-friendly bathrooms for those already independent.

Our huge bi-folding doors open onto a covered outdoor deck, allowing toddlers to enjoy fresh air and outdoor play in all weathers. Beyond that, our large garden features:

• An outdoor sandpit and water tables
• A construction and mark-making area
• A mud kitchen for messy, imaginative fun
• A dedicated soft play cabin where children can bounce, climb, and explore safely

We make mornings easier with our nursery jumper, so there’s no daily outfit stress. Open from 7:30am to 5:30pm, we offer flexibility for busy families.

Our SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) is based in Mini Maples, ensuring early support for children who may benefit from additional help as they transition through the toddler years and prepare for preschool.



Children remain in Mini Maples until the year before they start school, meaning some will enjoy up to two years of nurturing, play-filled learning before moving on to our Apple Class preschool room.
